Ifá and the Architecture of Destiny
The Yoruba concept of orí reframes destiny as a negotiation rather than a sentence.

Orí: the head you chose
In Yoruba cosmology, orí is the inner head — the destiny selected before birth. Western readers hear fate. The tradition means something closer to a contract with clauses.
Character as leverage
Ìwà, character, is what determines whether destiny is fulfilled. A strong orí with poor character underperforms. This is the tradition's central practical claim.
Divination as diagnostics
Ifá divination is not fortune-telling. It reads the current alignment between a life and its stated destiny, then prescribes correction.
